PURPOSE: To enhance the silencing and heat shutoff performance and the durability by pinching an inorganic fiber sound-absorbing material with metal foils having a specific thickness.
CONSTITUTION: An inorganic fiber sound-absorbing material is pinched by metal foils having a thickness between 5-200μm which excel in the heat resistance and flexibility, and therefore, there is no acoustic emission due to solid transmission sounds and no reflection of the emitted sound will be made. Favorable examples of the metal are stainless steel and aluminum. That is, the resultant silencing and heat shutting board 1 is composed of the inorganic fiber sound- absorbing material 2 and the metal foils 3, 4 attached to its front and rear surfaces, and the area around a hole for mounting bolt is subjected to eyelet 5 processing. Fixation of the metal foils 3, 4 is made with rivet 6, and the outermost part of the board 1 is subjected to clinch 7 processing.
