Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed cloth while accurately holding a joint end part between the sleeve and the body of a garment in the state of being folded down in a specified direction, thereby accurately performing side seam sewing from the sleeve to the body.SOLUTION: A side seam sewing machine 100 includes: a table 10; a sewing machine head 20; and a cloth presser conveyance device 30 which includes a cloth presser 36 moving in a sewing direction X along a cloth placement surface of the table while pressing cloth W onto the table, thereby moving the cloth on the table. The cloth presser includes a main cloth presser 36m and a sub cloth presser 36s. The main cloth presser is constituted by a long member for pressing the cloth from one end to the other end in the sewing direction. The sub cloth presser is attached to the main cloth presser so as to move together with the main cloth presser and is provided so as to extend a tip 36s1 to the arrangement range of cloth feed members 21 and 22 of the sewing machine head defined by a Y-axis and retract it to the arrangement range of the main cloth presser.
