Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce such trouble as destruction of circuit elements caused by abnormality of power source voltage by providing a circuit outputting an over- voltage detecting signal indicating that applied power source voltage is higher than the prescribed value and a circuit receiving this signal and making the prescribed circuit be in a standby state.
SOLUTION: A floppy disk drive(FDD) device is provided with a signal processing circuit device 50 for a FDD device being one integrated circuit device in which an interface drive circuit 1, a control circuit 2, a read-write circuit 3, a stepping motor drive circuit 4, and an over-voltage detecting circuit 12 are integrated. The over-voltage detecting circuit 12 outputs an over-voltage detecting signal to the control circuit 2 when power source voltage applied to the signal processing circuit device 50 is higher than the prescribed value. The control circuit 2 sets the interface drive circuit 1, the read-write circuit 3 and the stepping drive circuit 4 to be in a standby state while an over-voltage detecting signal is outputted.
