Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device capable of cross conversion connection between two different topologies, namely between PDH and ATM, by providing a first and a second demultiplexers in addition to an interface, a plexer, a module and router.
SOLUTION: PDH DS3 data is preferentially inputted to a link interface part 12. Then this DS3 data is inversely multiplexed to be 28 DS1 or 672 DS0 grade data within a multiplexer/demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX) 14. These 28 DS1 or 672 DS0 data are divided into four ATM adaptive layers 16a to 16d and inputted. Then these cells are sent to a router and rerouter 20 for transmitting to a back plane bus 22. ATM data from a switch part SSU is converted to PDH DS 3 data for transmission to a network link. Data flow can be converted according to this.
