Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable simple arriving angle estimation and array antenna control while having durability in multipath environment by estimating a signal arriving angle and the control reference signal of antenna while utilizing the known position relation between the peak of one of multibeams and the null of the other beams.
SOLUTION: Outputs from respective antenna elements are sampled at prescribed sampling speed, converted to digital signals by an analog/digital(A/D) converter 2 and separated to orthogonal components by a complex signal converting part 3 later so that a complex signal can be constituted. Correspondent weight coefficients are multiplied to respective signals by weight coefficient multipliers 4-1 to 4-m, spatial FFT is performed by a spatial FFT calculating part 5, and orthogonal multibeams are outputted. Out of these orthogonal beam outputs, the maximum beam output is selected by a maximum output beam selecting part 6, and the respective beam outputs and the maximum output beam selection information are outputted.
