Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a SiC/Si composite material joined body which hardly possesses a defect on the joint surface thereof, and to provide a method for producing the SiC/Si composite material joined body.SOLUTION: The SiC/Si composite material joined body is characterized in that a plurality of SiC/Si composite materials are joined to one another while interposing a joining layer therebetween. The joining layer is constituted so that at least one of Fe, Mn, Ni and Co is packed in a space between the adjacent SiC particles. The method for producing the SiC/Si composite material joined body, in which method the joint surfaces of the adjacent SiC/Si composite materials of the plurality of SiC/Si composite materials are abutted on each other, the abutted joint surfaces are kept in a pressure-exerted state while heating the abutted joint surfaces to join the adjacent SiC/Si composite materials to each other, comprises a step of incorporating at least one of Fe, Mn, Ni and Co in a joint surface-including region of at least one of the adjacent SiC/Si composite materials to be abutted on each other by 370 to 4,070 ppm.
