Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the silver halide color photographic sensitive material superior in color development performance and remarkably enhanced in the lightfastness of a magenta dye image by incorporating a specified magenta coupler in a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer. SOLUTION: At least one of the green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers of this photosensitive material contains at least one of the magenta couplers represented by the formula sensitive material in which R1 is a substituent; R2 is an optionally substituted alkyl or cycloalkyl or aryl group; X1 is an H atom or a group to be released by reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent: Z1 is a non-metallic atomic group necessary to form a cyclic hydrocarbon or hetero ring; and X2 is a >C=O car >S(=O)2 .
