Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material hardly causing fogging, desensitization and color turbidity by forming at least one photographic constituent layer contg. a dye represented by a specified structural formula on a support.

CONSTITUTION: At least one photographic constituent layer contg. a compd. represented by general formula I is formed on a support. In the formula I, A is aryl such as phenyl or naphthyl or a heterocyclic group such as pyrrole, pyridine, indole or carbazole. The compd. represented by the formula I is especially useful as a dye for photography and is incorporated into a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer or other nonphotosensitive layer, such as a protective layer, an intermediate layer, a filter layer or an anti-halation layer, by various methods.
