PURPOSE: To enable stable incorporation of various kinds of developing agents into a photosensitive material by forming at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a base and incorporating a specific compd. into said layer.
CONSTITUTION: The compd. which is expressed by formula I and release the compd. to directly or indirectly reduce silver halide is incorporated into the silver halide photographic sensitive material. In formula I, PWR denotes a group which releases (Time)t-DA when reduced; Time denotes a group which releases DA via an ensuing reaction after released as (Time)t-DA from PWR; (t) denotes 0 or 1 integer; DA denotes a group which directly or indirectly reduces the silver halide after released. A more specific example of this compd. is expressed by formula I-1.
