To provide a simple evaluating method of properties of pilger roll oil which is used as lubricating oil of a pilger mill in a manufacturing process of a steel pipe.

The simple evaluating method of the pilger roll oil is used for simply evaluating the properties of the pilger roll oil which causes local corrosion of an inner face of the steel pipe, and for managing the properties of the oil, to thereby prevent the local corrosion of the inner face of the steel pipe in the manufacturing process of the steel pipe. Moreover, in the simple evaluating method of the pilger roll oil, when the properties of the pilger roll oil is simply evaluated, viscosity is measured by filtration time of the oil when it is filtered by using an oil filter paper, and iron included in the oil which is a residue after filtration is measured.
