Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the wear resistance of a sink roll by using a steel contg. specified amounts of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni and Cr as the material of the body and by providing specified Shore hardness to the surface of the body by work hardening.
CONSTITUTION: The composition of the body of a sink roll for hot dipping is composed of, by weight, 0.15W0.4% C, 1.5W2.25% Si, 0.75W1.25% Mn, <0.03% P, <0.03% S, 9W12% Ni, 22W25.5% Cr and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The body is work-hardened by pressing with a roll or other method to provide ≥40 Shore hardness to the surface of the body.
