In the sizing apparatus 10 in which the sand gravel and the wash load are separated from each other and the wash load is made to flow to the downstream by making the treating water in which the sand gravel and the wash load are incorporated flow into a treating tank 12 and settling the sand gravel by self-gravity, the treating tank 12 possesses a flow-in part 14 where the treating water flows-in, a settling part 16 positioned at the downstream side of the flow-in part 14, a movable weir 18 arranged at the downstream side of the settling part 16 and provided to be movable in the flow direction and a driving part 20 for moving the movable weir 18 successively to the downstream side to secure a required distance between the movable weir and the tip part of the successively settled sand gravel.
