Abstract:
To provide a sliding member capable of controlling Bi added to an alloy layer to further improve seizure resistance without causing deterioration of fatigue resistance, and a method for manufacturing a sliding member.SOLUTION: A sliding member 10 according to one embodiment comprises a base material 11, and an alloy layer 12 containing Cu as a main component and Bi, and forming a sliding surface 14 on the opposite side of the base material 11. The alloy layer 12 has a first region and a second region. The first region is set in an area of 30% of a thickness from an interface 13 on the base material 11 side to the sliding surface 14 side. The second region is set in an area of 10% of a thickness from the sliding surface 14 to the base material 11 side. Many of Bi phases included in the second region have a larger cross-sectional area in any observed cross section than Bi phases included in the first region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
