Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge collecting apparatus which can efficiently collect sludge deposited on a water bottom without polluting the surrounding water.
SOLUTION: The sludge collecting apparatus is comprised of a blocking tank 1, a rectifying means 1c, a blocking tank moving means 2, and a sludge sucking means 6. The blocking tank 1 has an opened lower surface and has a water inlet formed in a part of a side surface thereof. The rectifying means 1c is arranged in the blocking tank 1, for forming a stream from the water inlet 1a toward a sludge inlet 1b by accelerating the stream of water taken from the water inlet 1a. The blocking tank moving means 2 places the blocking tank 1 onto the water bottom on which sludge is deposited, and moves the tank 1 along the water bottom. The sludge sucking means 6 sucks the sludge in the blocking tank 1 together with water from the sludge inlet port 1b. By virtue of the construction of the sludge collecting apparatus, the soft sludge deposited on the water bottom can be agitated by the stream generated in the blocking tank 1 and then sucked by the sludge sucking means 3 together with water. As a result, the sludge on the water bottom can be efficiently collected without polluting the surrounding water.
