To execute printing by means of a small sized printer capable of being moved straight at equal line spacing by scanning it by a freehand.

A small sized printer 1 is comprised of a printer body 2 and a desk pad 3. A projection section 21a is provided on the printer body and a plurality of guide rails 3a which are arranged straight at equal intervals are provided on the desk pad 3. A recording medium P is placed on the desk pad 3 and the projection section 21a is fitted to one of the guide rails 3a with the recording medium therebetween, then the printer body 2 is moved to be scanned along the guide rail 2a thereby performing the printing. When printing the next line, the printer body 2 is moved along the guide rail 3a placed at the next position, then the printing is performed similarly. As a result, it is possible to print straight at equal line spacing by scanning the printer by a freehand.
