Title:
ODOR DISCRIMINATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016186426
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the identity of odor molecules generated from an object being measured.SOLUTION: An odor identifying system includes: a sample chamber 2 for holding an object S to be measured, an odor detection chamber 3 constituting of an odor selecting element 31 for detecting odor molecules which are chemical materials diffused from the object S to be measured, and an odor sensor unit 32; a PC 4 for processing a result of detection in the odor detection chamber 3, and a flow passage 5 connecting the sample storage chamber 2 and the detection chamber 3 with each other. The odor selecting element 31 includes: a molecule size filter 31a for selecting odor molecules according to a difference in molecule size; a polarity filter for making the selection according to a difference in polarity (lipid solubility); and a functional group filter for selecting a specific functional group in the molecules and odor desorbing means. Volatilized flavoring molecules are detected by the odor sensor 32, and the odor molecules are characterized from the molecular size and the polarity by data processing with the PC 4 and the parameter estimation on the specific functional group, and the odor molecules are identified by matching with a database.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
