To provide a sooted bamboo-like smoked bamboo artwork obtained by smoking and baking a natural bamboo material having the epidermis preliminarily subjected to shaping processing and smoking the surface and endodermis of the shaped bomboo material so as to have a brownish color, and a plant cultivating method for putting the sooted bamboo-like smoked bamboo artwork to practical use.

The epidermis and endodermis sides of a bamboo material such as a common Japanese bamboo, a thick stemmed bamboo or the like is smoked and baked so as to obtain brownish sooted bamboo-like appearance to provide various embodiments of cylindrical or halved semi-baked charcoal. Semi-baked bamboo products are combined variously not only to cultivate a decorative plant but also to enhance an ornamental effect as an interior decorative article.
