Title:
SNOWBOARD WITH DAMPER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10248989
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To improve the controllability and operability of a snowboard by dissipating energy of vibration between mounting zones of an anchoring device while preserving softness against bending and twisting.

This snowboard is so arranged to contain a damper provided with at least one slender members 50 and 51 which are connected to the board at the central part 2 while being used to transmit a bending stress and/or a twisting stress at the central part. In this case, the slender members 50 and 51 have at least first parts 500 and 510 securely connected to the board and at least second parts 501 and 511 free to translate. The end parts of the members contact soft dampers 600, 601, 610 and 611 which dissipate energy attributed to shearing or friction generated by the translating motion or rotary motion of the second parts 501 and 511 depending on the case when the central part 2 is deformed by bending and/or twisting.
