Abstract:
To obtain an adhesive force and an internal friction angle of a soft bedrock by using a boring core collected from the soft bedrock by all-core boring.SOLUTION: A soft bedrock evaluation method comprises the steps of: excavating a bedrock and collecting a columnar boring core comprising a soft layer around a hard portion; cutting the boring core to form a columnar sample with a flat end face; calculating an adhesive force (c) of the hard portion from a shearing breaking load measured by applying a shearing force to the sample from the end face by a single shear test, a diameter of the sample, a thickness of the soft layer, and a length of the sample; calculating uniaxial compression strength of the hard portion from a compression breaking load measured by applying a compression force to the sample from the end face by a uniaxial compression test, the diameter of the sample, the thickness of the soft layer, and the length of the sample; and calculating an internal friction angle φ of the hard portion from the adhesive force and the uniaxial compression strength.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
