Abstract:
A soil consolidation procedure comprises feeding the soil with one or more solutions containing calcifying bacteria selected from the families of Bacillaceae, Pseudomonadaceae, Enterobacteriaceae and Myxococcal bacteria, circulating the solutions and delivering one or more nutrient solutions to feed the bacteria. The soil is then fed with one or more solutions of denitrifying bacteria, which are circulated through the soil. The bacterial feeds, monitoring of the rate of consolidation and/or analysis of water are carried out by a series of boreholes drilled round the outside of the zone being consolidated.
