To provide a solid catalytic component and a catalyst containing the same, each for olefin polymerization, capable of obtaining in high yield an olefin polymer with broad molecular weight distribution, especially a propylene polymer while maintaining its high stereoregularity and high yield, and to provide a method for the olefin polymerization.
The olefin polymerization catalyst is formed of (A) the solid catalytic component for olefin polymerization obtained by contacting, with (a) a solid component comprising a magnesium compound, titanium tetrachloride and an electron donor, (b) an organosilicon compound of the formula: (R1R2N)n(R3)4-n-m Si(OR4)m, (c) a second organosilicon compound of the formula:[CH2=CH-(CH2)n]qSiR54-q and (d) an organoaluminum compound, and (B) an organoaluminum compound, and as necessary, (C) an external electron donor. The olefin polymer is obtained by using the catalyst.
