Abstract:
To provide a solid form of (-)-Ambrox, and a method for preparing and purifying the form.SOLUTION: A solid form of a compound expressed by formula (I) is characterized by at least one of the following characteristics: presenting an X-ray diffraction pattern having at least one of peaks of the following diffraction angles 2θ which are approximately 15.6, 16.2, 16.7, 17.0, 17.4, and 18.3+/-0.2°; including an elongate crystal having an average diameter of at least approximately 10 to approximately 400 micrometers when measured by laser granulometry; including an elongate crystal having a length along its longest dimension larger than 100 micrometers; and/or having L* value of 90 or more, a* value of less than 1 and larger than -1, and b* value being less than 8, where L*, a* and b* values denote CIELAB L*a*b* chromaticity coordinates.SELECTED DRAWING: None
