On one of principal surfaces of a solid electrolyte layer 4 facing each other, a fuel electrode layer 3 supplied with fuel gas, or the fuel electrode layer 3 supplied with fuel gas and a conductive support are provided sequentially. On the other principal surface, an oxide electrode layer 5 supplied with oxygen-containing gas is provided. In such a solid oxide fuel cell 1a, an oxidation suppression layer 10 is provided at one end of the solid oxide fuel cell 1a so as to cover the fuel electrode layer 3 surface or the conductive support surface. The oxidation suppression layer 10 includes an inside suppression layer 10a located on the fuel electrode layer 3 side or the conductive support side, and an outside suppression layer 10b located on the outside of the inside suppression layer 10a and being more porous than the inside suppression layer 10a.
