To provide a solid-state image pickup device and solid-state image pickup device driving method which can increase readout speed without increasing power consumption, and an electronic apparatus which comprises the solid-state image pickup device as an imaging unit (image capture unit).
The solid-state image pickup device comprises: a unit pixel comprising a transfer gate for transferring charge, which is obtained by photoelectric conversion in a photoelectric conversion unit, to a diffusion layer; a signal line for reading signals output from the unit pixel; and a current source connected to the signal line. During a transfer period of a transfer gate, electrical breaking between the unit pixel and the signal line and between the signal line and the current source keeps the potential of the signal line constant during the transfer period.
