PURPOSE: To obtain a bright picture by replacing a visibility correction filter with a transparent glass plate being as thick as it is for the subject of low intensity of illumination.

CONSTITUTION: The visibility correction filter 3a is made exchangeable for the transparent glass plate 4 of the same thickness as that of it, and if the intensity of illumination of the subject is low, the visibility correction filter 3a is replaced with the transparent glass plate 4. In this case, incident light through an optical lens 1 comes to reach the solid state image pickup element 2a of an image pickup part 2 after being little cut. Thus, the bright image can be picked up even from the subject of the low intensity of illumination.
