Abstract:

To provide a solid-state imaging device which is reduced in mixing of colors, shade of lines, flickers, shade of color, and variation of sensitivity.

The solid-state imaging device includes an array of unit pixel cells. Each unit pixel cell comprises a photoelectric conversion element formed on a semiconductor substrate, a color filter formed on the photoelectric conversion element, and a microlens formed on the color filter. The color filter is thinner at the periphery than at the center, and is adjacent to other color filters both in the longitudinal and lateral directions of the array of the unit pixel cells. The color filter has a cross-sectional shape of a triangle, trapezoid, convex, lens, half-ellipse, or the like.
