A sound evaluating device is equipped with a sound reception section which receives a sound, a time structure information extraction section which extracts time structure information as information regarding the time structure of the sound received by the sound reception section from the received sound, a model evaluation information storage section which stores model evaluation information as information for evaluating whether the sound is good or not, an evaluation section which evaluates the sound based upon model time and structure information based upon the time structure information extracted by the time structure information extraction section and the model evaluation information and evaluates the sound according to a designated rule, and an evaluation result output section which outputs the evaluation result of the evaluation section, and can evaluate whether the sound is good or not in aspects matching human senses.
