This sound insulating material for a distributing pipe is provided with a sound absorbing member formed of an open cell soft urethane foam body with closed cells at the rate of 30% or less, having a cavity part opened to the inner peripheral surface coming in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the distributing pipe, and a sound insulating member formed of soft resin provided at the outer surface of the sound absorbing member. Since this sound insulating material has a cavity part opened to the surface, coming in contact with the distributing pipe, of the sound absorbing member, contact area of the distributing pipe and sound absorbing member is reduced so as to suppress transmission of vibration from the distributing pipe. In addition, an air layer formed in the cavity part reduces noise from the dustributing pipe.
