There are provided a housing 10, a rotor 30 of which a shaft 31 extending laterally is born with a housing 10 for free rotation, and a stator 40 which is so fixed to the inner wall surface of the housing 10 as to enclose the outer peripheral part of the rotor 30. Sound absorbing materials 51 and 52 are packed in the space between coil wound parts 44 and 45 formed on both the right and left sides of the stator 40 and the right and left inner wall surfaces of the housing 10. The housing 10 comprises a center housing 11, that covers the outer peripheral part of the stator 40, and side, right and left, housings 12 and 13, that are jointed to both the right and the left sides of the center housing 11 and cover both sides of the stator 40 and the rotor 30. Right/left stiffener plates 21 and 25 for tightly contacting the sound absorbing materials 51 and 52 against the inner wall surfaces of the right and left side housings 12 and 13, are sandwiched in between the center housing 11 and the right/left side housings 12 and 13.
