PURPOSE: To prevent the short cycle in an outdoor machine and conserve space with good design quality and easy maintenance without lowering the capability even in a multistoried building by installing the outdoor machine the blowout port of which is provided at right angle to the wall face of a building and the suction port of which is provided parallel to the wall face of the building on a veranda along the column of the building on the window side and indoor machine in a shaft cover which is provided round the column on the same floor of the building and connecting both machine with a coolant piping.

CONSTITUTION: An outdoor machine 1 installed in the veranda along the column 9 on the side of the window 6 and indoor machine 2 which is installed in a shaft cover 8 that is installed round the column 9 on the side of the corridor are connected with a coolant piping 3. The outdoor machine has a suction port 1a 2which is parallel to the wall face of the building in the lower section and a blowout port 1b which is at right angle to the wall face in the upper section. The indoor machine 2 is constituted with a filter 2a, heat exchanger 1b on the side of use, blower 2c, etc. and its suction port communicates with an open section 8a provided at the lower section of the shaft cover 8 and the blowout port communicates with an air blast duct 11 in the ceiling. The air blast duct 11 communicates with a blowout panel 12 installed on a ceiling material 5 by means of a branch duct 11a.
