To quickly perform a spacecraft orientation procedure with no or almost no support by a ground tracking station.
The x-axis of a spacecraft 20 is set parallel to a solar beam by using a solar sensor 50 in order to search an earth in accordance with a ground tracking station or autonomously supplied instructions by using a gyro sensor 52 or an earth sensor 48. The orientation procedure is conducted with no support by the ground tracking station by using at least one of a telemetry command antenna 40. The orientation procedure is processed by the rotation of the spacecraft about the x-axis for scanning the antenna to intercept command signal broadcasting from the earth. The earth is located in a first reference plane so that the strength of a command signal for locating the earth in a second reference plane perpendicular to the first reference plane can be measured by the rotation about a y-axis.
