Title:
SPEAKER UNIT FOR REPRODUCING LOW-FREQUENCY BAND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3965040
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce distortion by making flat the phase characteristics of an actual use band in a speaker unit for reproducing a low-frequency band, and to improve the sound localization of a low-frequency region.
SOLUTION: The speaker unit for a low-frequency band comprises a speaker enclosure 10, a duct 14 that is formed in the speaker enclosure and has a port on the speaker enclosure, and a speaker 13 that is mounted to the speaker enclosure. The speaker has a first resonance frequency that is set higher than the upper frequency of an actual use band (20 to 100 Hz), and has a second resonance frequency that is set lower than the lower frequency of the actual use band. For example, by increasing the first resonance frequency higher than the upper frequency of the actual use band by lowering the mass or compliance of the speaker 13, and increasing duct length, or controlling a duct sectional area, the second resonance frequency is made lower than the lower frequency of the actual use band.
