To provide a speed change control device of a vehicle capable of increasing traceability by suppressing the occurrence of uncomfortable feeling due to speed change by the turning on or off of an accelerator when downshift is performed on a higher vehicle speed side during deceleration to improve fuel consumption.
Since the downshift of an automatic transmission 16 by the turning off of the accelerator is performed when the vehicle speed is lowered by a specified value starting at the turning off of the accelerator by a speed change control means 104, the downshift is immediately performed to bring the rotational speed NE of an engine in an area in which fuel cut is performed to improve the fuel consumption as well as the turning off of the acceleration, the rotational speed NE of the engine is raised, and the uncomfortable feeling is suppressed to occur. Accordingly, even if the accelerator is turned on immediately after turned off, an upshift is prevented from being performed to suppress the occurrence of busy feeling due to repeated speed change by the turning off or on of the accelerator so as to increase drivability.
