To provide a rocking detecting device of an elevator speed governor rope for easily performing installation work from above a car.
This rocking detecting device is used together with a vibration damper having a mounting bracket fixed to the car, a spring seat fixed to the speed governor rope and a compression spring arranged between the spring seat and itself, and is arranged between the mounting bracket and the spring seat, and has an actuator and a detector, and detects relative displacement exceeding a predetermined value between the car and the speed governor rope, and is supported by an inserting-mutual fitting structure for elastically holding an installation arm for supporting the actuator or the detector between the spring seat and the compression spring. The installation work can be easily performed from above the car.
