Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain a large reduction ratio, by fitting different numbers of rigid balls in annular openings across which an input rotary body and a fixed part face each other and thrusting both the groups of the balls toward each other. CONSTITUTION:The rigid balls 4, 8 are rotatably fitted in the annular openings defined among the fixed part 1, an output rotary body 3 and a washer of the input rotary body 2. The numbers of the balls in both the annular openings are slightly different from each other. When the input rotary body 2 is rotated, both the groups of the balls 4, 8 are thrusted toward each other by a thrusting part 10. The balls 8 are displaced in the circumferential direction by the diameter of each ball 4 per rotation of the input rotary body 2, thereby obtaining the large reduction ratio through the output rotary body 3. A slide pin 6 is provided to limit the revolution of the balls 4. When the revolution of the balls is permitted by moving the slide pin back, the output rotary body 3 is rotated together with the input rotary body 2.
