Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to manufacture spherical polished concrete aggregates with rounded profile and lowered water absorption, the use of which as aggregate for concrete can improve the solid volume percentage and reduce the unit water content.
SOLUTION: The method comprises the following 3 processes; (A) raw material grinding process, where waste concrete aggregate 10 are ground to obtain ground concrete aggregate 12 and fine concrete powder 13, (B) concrete fine powder layer adhesion process, where the cement 3 is mixed into the ground concrete aggregate and the concrete fine powder and agitated to adhere concrete fine powder layer 14 on the outer surface of the ground concrete aggregate to form the spherical aggregates with rough surface 15, and (C) intergrinding process, where the spherical concrete aggregates are interground to give the concrete aggregates of rounded profile 17 having polished surfaces 16 and ground fine concrete powder 18.
