Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce powder of a metallic material excellent in continuous formability by heating and melting particles of Nb.Al metallic material powder with plasma flame, and quenching it to manufacture spherical particles of solid solution of A2 type body-centered cubic structure.
SOLUTION: A high-frequency power is applied to a high-frequency induction coil 17 while flowing in the Ar gas from a core gas feed pipe 13 and a sheath gas feed pipe 14 of a plasma torch 11, and a plasma flame 1 is generated in a quartz tube 12 and ejected from a lower part side. Raw material powder of an A15 type 3 is a raw material hopper 22 is fed from a raw material feed nozzle 24 to a heating part 2 of the plasma flame 12 with Ar gas from a carrier gas feed pipe 20, the raw material powder 3 is heated and melted in the powder state, and the molten powder is dropped into a chamber 31. The molten particles are quenched by ejecting the Ar gas from a tip of a cooling gas nozzle 42 through a cooling gas feed pipe 43, the A15 type raw material powder 3 is transformed into A2 type spherical particles of bcc body-centered cubic structure, and stored in a collection container 33.
