Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure the quality of treading on an obstacle, a ditch and the like and all-directional steering by providing spherical type wheel so supported as to be rotatable via a plurality of balls and fitting a plurality of driving wheels independently driven and so arranged with the rotary axes thereof alternately crossing each other as to give turning force to the global type wheels. CONSTITUTION:A spherical type steering wheel 11 comprises a spherical type wheel 12 and two or more driving wheels 13. And the spherical type wheel 12 is so supported with four or more balls 14 as to be rotatable and each ball 14 is supported on the supports 16 of a supporting frame 15. And the external surface of each driving wheel 13 is made is contact with the surface of the spherical type wheel 12 and independently driven with each motor 17, thereby enable giving a turning force to the spherical type wheel 12. In this case, the driving wheels 13 are arranged with the axes of rotary centers alternately crossing each other. According to the aforesaid constitution, the spherical type wheel 12 is prevented from catching a ditch and the like on a floor and can be steered in all directions by controlling the rotation of each driving wheel 13.
