Abstract:
To provide a spheroidal graphite cast iron casting having fatigue strength comparable to that of a forged product.
The spheroidal graphite cast iron casting comparable to a forged product can be obtained by preventing the occurrence of casting defects in the vicinity of the surface part of a spheroidal graphite cast iron casting and/or in the inner part, or forming casting defects reduced in sensitivity to fatigue strength, by applying a vacuum suction casting process. The part between the surface and a position at a depth of 0.7mm from the surface is practically free from surface defects. Further, the square root of the area of the maximum internal defect among internal defects takes a value of ≤1.0mm.
