To provide a spin dryer performing an operation for reducing vibration of a spin-dry tub.
A spin dryer comprises: a spin-dry tub disposed to stand upright so as to contain clothing; a drive unit rotationally driving the spin-dry tub so as to attain a target rotation speed; a sensor element detecting vibration of the spin-dry tub; and a control unit controlling the drive unit based on the vibration of the spin-dry tub. When the sensor element detects the vibration of the spin-dry tub exceeding a control threshold value determined for the vibration of the spin-dry tub while the drive unit is accelerating the spin-dry tub, the drive unit causes steady rotation of the spin-dry tub at a control rotation speed lower than the target rotation speed under control of the control unit. The control unit extends a dewatering time period determined in accordance with the target rotation speed.
