PURPOSE: To obtain a spinning reel for fishing to enable easy attaching and detaching of a spool to a spool shaft.

CONSTITUTION: This spinning reel is provided with a spool 16 having a through- hole, a plurality of braking elements 20A, 20D, 20R engaged in the spool, an engaging part 18K holding the spool on the outer circumference in a state to inhibit the rotation of the spool and enable the removal of the spool forward in axial direction, a braking cylinder 18 having the engaging part 18K and rotatably put on a spool shaft 14, a pressing member 22 engaged with a screw 14C of the spool shaft to press the braking elements to exhibit the braking power and a regulation member 26 releasably engaged from outside with an assembly of the pressing member and the spool shaft. The spool 16 is fit on the outer circumferential engaging part 18K of the braking cylinder through the through-hole 16N to prevent the rotation of the spool relative to the pressing member.
