In this spiral groove structure for a spiral seal, a shaft member 2 is mounted in a cylindrical member 1, and a spiral groove 13 is provided between both members 1, 2. A spiral seal 4 is inserted in the spiral groove 13, and pumping action, flow control, motor action, and the like are performed by relative rotation, axial movement, or the like between the cylinder member 1 and the shaft member 2. In this case, a spiral spring 3 is press-fixed to the outer periphery of the shaft member 2 or the inner periphery of the cylindrical member 1 so as to form the spiral groove 13 between respective winding.
