To obtain a split-type conjugate short fiber that has a high spilt ratio by air stirring, comprises an extra fine fiber by easy splitting into extra fine fiber, has a slight nonsplit part, an excellent uniformity, a soft feeling and provides a nonwoven fabric having low air permeability and a short fiber nonwoven fabric having an extra fine fiber split from the spit type conjugate short fiber even in the production of a dry nonwoven fabric liable to cause fiber mass especially by generation of static electricity.
The split-type conjugate short fiber comprises two components of a polyamide-based polymer A and a polyolefin-based polymer B. In a cross-section orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the fiber, the fiber exhibits a shape in which a plurality of the polyamide-based polymers arranged are brought into contact with the circumference of the polyolefin-based polymer, has an air stirring split ratio of ≥65%, a fiber length of 1.0-30mm and a single fiber fineness of 0.5-20 dtex.
