To enable spool containing boxes to be stacked on one another with a high degree of positioning accuracy.
The spool containing boxes for containing spools 4 are stored and transported in a stacked state. Each box has a containing box main body 2 whose upper face is kept in an open state, and stacking assisting members 5-9 which are provided at upper edge portions of side face walls of the containing box main body 2 and which guide the containing box main body 2 on the upper stage side, so as to position it right over the containing box main body 2 on the lower stage side to hold it thereon. The specific stacking assisting member 5 is colored so as to be capable of classifying the spools by the kinds thereof with respect to the other stacking assisting members 6-9.
