Abstract:
To provide a cosmetic composition containing a stabilized organic sunscreening agent.
A cosmetic composition containing an organic sunscreening agent in combination with a 4-substituted resorcinol derivative of general formula (I) exhibits improved storage stability and oxidative stability. In general formula (I), R1 and R2 are each independently a hydrogen atom, -CO-R (acyl group), -COO-R or CONHR; R is a saturated or unsaturated, linear, branched or cyclic 1-18C hydrocarbon group; and R3 is (1) an alkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, preferably having 2-12 carbon atoms, with or without substitution of one or more hydrogen atoms of a linear alkyl group with a methyl or ethyl group.
