Abstract:
To provide a solution of ascorbic acid stable over at least about 24 months.
The solution comprises 15% or less L-ascorbic acid especially in a carrier comprising 10 to 15% water, 47 to 55% ethoxydiglycol, and 22 to 29% propylene glycol, wherein all percentages are given to weight of final composition, and the balance to 100% comprises a percentage of a perfume. The process for obtaining the stable vitamin C solution is provided. The process is characterized by sequential additions of the vitamin and ethoxydiglycol, which are followed by addition of propylene glycol under a high-speed stirring condition.
