PURPOSE: The titled composition, containing a halogenated hydrocarbon and a specific hydroquinone as a stabilizer, having improved stability against the heating at high temperatures for a long term, and capable of giving smooth and uniform coating films having improved adhesion and high gloss retention to clear coating materials.

CONSTITUTION: A composition obtained by adding (B) 2,5-di-tert-butylhydroquinone and/or 2,5-di-tert-amylhydroquinone in an amount of 0.05W5wt%, based on the resin content, to (A) a solvent containing preferably 80wt% or more halogenated hydrocarbon, e.g. trichloroethylene.
