PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein scaffold having a novel characteristic.SOLUTION: The present invention discloses isolated nucleic acids that encode a fibronectin 3 (FN3) protein, for example, a protein scaffold based on a consensus sequence such as the tenth FN3 repeat of human fibronectin (human Tenascin), vectors, host cells, and methods of making and using thereof.
