PURPOSE: To provide the title compositions which exhibit biocidal effects with a low amt. of use and are stable for a long time by using aqueous or non- aqueous products which contain a stabilized amt. of specified isothiazolone and a bismuth salt and receive damage caused by microorganisms as effective ingredients.
CONSTITUTION: A compd. of formula (Y is a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, an unsubstd. or halo-substd. alkenyl or alkinyl, an unsubstd. or substd. cycloalkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl or H; R and R1 are each H, a halo or an alkyl) and a stabilized amt. of a bismuth salt are incorporated as effective ingredients. Ratio of the compounding is one kind or about 0.01-about 99.999 pts. isothiazolone and a stabilized amt. of the bismuth salt in a range of about 0.0001-about 99.9 pts. In addition, as isothiazolone as the above effective ingredient, a mixture of about 70-85 pts. 5-chloro-2-methyl-3-isothiazolone and about 15-30 pts. 2- methyl-3-isothiazolone is pref.
