To provide a stacked metallic member which has excellent heat insulating properties, and is useful as a plunger sleeve for a die casting machine or the like.

Metallic cylinders composed of the same kind or different kinds of metals are superimposed so as to be the shape of a concentrical circle with a layer of ceramic fiber or powder interposed, and are subjected to hot or cold working including a working load to a direction in which the superimposed faces of the metallic cylinders are pressed, so that a concentric circle-shaped layer structure consisting of metallic layers (2) (21, 22...) and compacted thermal insulation layers (3) (31, 32...) as nonsintered ceramics layers present between the metallic layers. The layer thickness of each thermal insulation layer (3) is preferably ≤1 mm, and the layer thickness of the metallic layer (21) on the innermost side is, e.g. 3 to 15 mm.
